Hourly schedules to be reintroduced in the region due to electricity shortage
In Chernihiv region, starting from 1 October, the following will be restored schedules of hourly power outages. This was reported by Chernihivoblenergo, stressing that the situation in the power system remains «mega-critical».
Why restrictions are being introduced
The massive shelling of the energy infrastructure damaged the grids, leaving more than 300,000 consumers without power. Currently, there is insufficient capacity to provide stable power to all customers.
How the schedule will work
The outages will start from 20:00 on 1 October.
Provides for four queues consumers.
Scheme: 3 hours with light / 6 hours without light.
In the intervals, reconnections are possible, and the power company will additionally warn about them.
Implications for residents
Significant inconveniences are expected in the region, ranging from disruptions in everyday life to problems with heating in households using electric boilers. Residents are advised to charge their devices in advance and have alternative power sources.
Government response
Chernihivoblenergo stressed that this is a temporary measure for the period of restoration work. Residents can check their turn of outages through the company's official website or in Viber and Telegram bots.
