Four children die in fire in Cherkasy region

The State Emergency Service reports a terrible tragedy in the Uman district of Cherkasy region. At night, rescuers received a report of a fire in a private residential building.
The worried mother told the dispatcher that the apartment is already fully engulfed in flames, and children remain inside.

What the rescuers found

After the fire was contained, firefighters found the fire:

• the remains of three children,

• and a body fragment, probably of the fourth child.

According to preliminary information, the deceased could be 4 children born in 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2025.

Another child, born in 2017, She survived. She was hospitalised with first degree burns of the hands and signs of poisoning by combustion products.

Causes of the tragedy

Investigators and experts from the State Emergency Service are working at the scene to establish the origin of the fire and the circumstances of the incident.
