Opposition blocks the rostrum in the Rada and demands the resignation of the entire government
Today, the political crisis in the Verkhovna Rada has escalated yet again. MPs from opposition factions blocked the rostrum, demanding resignations of the entire government. Due to the blockade, the parliament was unable to start considering personnel issues.
Opposition MPs claim that the government has «lost control» and that a complete reset of the executive branch is needed after the «Mindgate».
The position of the mono-majority
Faction «Servant of the People» advocates targeted personnel decisions. According to parliamentary sources, the mono-majority proposes to dismiss only the most senior officials:
Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko,
and his deputy Svitlana Grinchuk.
This issue was the first on the agenda, but due to the blocking of the rostrum, the consideration was not held.
The meeting was closed
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada was forced to close the meeting, without holding a single vote. No new date has been announced for the consideration of personnel decisions.

The situation in parliament has escalated amid a corruption scandal in the energy sector and internal pressure on the president and government. Some members of the Servant of the People faction are also demanding tougher personnel decisions, and political tensions are rising.
