New parking rules
Parking in Ukraine should receive special places for families with children under the age of three.
The relevant decision was made by Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, by supporting the draft law in the second reading.
«Such spaces should account for at least 5% of the total number of parking spaces,» the document says.
How it will work
Drivers transporting children under the age of 3 will be able to use specially marked parking spaces.
Cars must have the appropriate mark or sticker, confirming the right to use these parking spaces.
The aim of the initiative is to facilitate the movement of young parents with small children and improve comfort and safety in car parks near shopping centres, hospitals and public institutions.
Context.
A similar practice is in place in EU countries - special seats for families with small children are marked with a pram or baby icon.
In Ukraine, such norms have not been previously enshrined in law, although some private parking facilities have introduced them voluntarily.
