64% of Americans support arms supplies to Ukraine - Reagan Institute poll
Support for Ukraine in American society continues to grow. According to a new poll Reagan National Defence Survey, 64% of US citizens are in favour of further arms supplies to Ukraine. The results were published by Reagan Institute.
This figure is by 9 points higher, than last year, and demonstrates an increase in support among voters of both parties:
59% Republicans support the provision of weapons;
75% Democrats are in favour of continuing military aid.
Americans want Ukraine to win over Russia
In addition to supporting military aid, 62% respondents said they were in favour of Ukraine's victory in the war against Russia. This demonstrates a stable public consensus on the need to counter Russian aggression.
Growing support - despite the political debate in Washington
Reagan Institute experts emphasise that even amid political polarisation and debates over the amount of aid, the American public demonstrates a clear and consistent desire to support Ukraine in both the military and political dimensions.
This survey could become a powerful argument for US lawmakers in their future decisions on funding defence support for Kyiv.
