Renault starts production of military drones for Ukraine
French car manufacturer Renault starts production of military drones for Ukraine. This was reported by the BFM, citing sources in the French defence sector.
According to the publication, Renault has signed a contract with The French Directorate General for Armaments (DGA) to manufacture UAVs at its facilities in cities Le Mans and Cleon.
Production and volumes
The project is being implemented in cooperation with the French defence company Turgis & Gaillard. As part of the agreement, Renault plans to produce up to 600 drones per month.
We are talking about drones Chorus, which are described in French sources as long-range remote-controlled munition. In addition to strike missions, drones can be used for intelligence and surveillance.
Contract value
According to the information L'Usine Nouvelle, The implementation of this contract could bring Renault about €1 billion over 10 years, making it one of the largest defence projects for the company.
