Russia prepares mass deportation of Ukrainians from occupied territories to Siberia
The Russian Federation plans to start mass deportation of Ukrainian citizens from the temporarily occupied territories to Siberia and other remote regions of the Russian Federation. This was reported by Centre for National Resistance.
According to the CNS, the occupation administrations are already compiling lists of people to be forcibly «evacuated», disguising it as alleged «protective measures».
Details of the planned deportation
The National Resistance Centre notes that Russia:
preparing logistics for the mass movement of Ukrainians,
forms groups of «unreliable» people - people who are considered disloyal to the occupation authorities,
conducts «residence checks» to verify personal data,
propagandistically calls deportations «evacuation to safe areas of the Russian Federation».
According to analysts, it could be tens of thousands of Ukrainian citizens.
The CNS emphasises that such actions are war crime and violation of the Geneva Conventions.
Context.
Russia has already carried out large-scale deportations of Ukrainians from the occupied territories since 2022, including the removal of children, adolescents, families and critical workers.
International organisations, including the UN and the ICRC, have repeatedly documented the facts of forced displacement and family separation.
Ukrainian authorities say they continue to document these crimes for international courts.
