Russia accuses the West of «preparing for war with Russia» at OSCE meeting
During the OSCE ministerial meeting in Vienna, the Russian representative Alexander Grushko accused Western countries of «purposefully preparing for an armed clash with Russia». This was reported by Ukrainian Pravda.
Details of the application
Grushko said that, in his opinion, the EU and NATO have «abandoned the concept of more security with less» and are allegedly seeking «military superiority in all operational environments».
According to him:
The Baltic, Black Sea and Arctic regions have been «turned into zones of confrontation»;
The EU and NATO «do not demonstrate readiness to de-escalate»;
The West allegedly does not seek a «return to peaceful coexistence».
Context.
Russia's accusations came against the backdrop of continued Russian aggression against Ukraine, massive missile and drone attacks, and the build-up of Russian troops near NATO's borders.
The EU and North Atlantic Alliance countries systematically reject such statements by Russia, stressing that it was the Kremlin's actions that caused the escalation in Europe.
