Roskomnadzor announces blocking of video communication service FaceTime on the territory of Russia.
In a statement, the agency claims that Apple's platform was allegedly used to:

  • organising and conducting terrorist attacks,

  • recruitment of performers,

  • implementation of fraudulent schemes.

As usual, the Russian side did not provide any confirmation or evidence.


Context.

Since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has consistently restricted access to:

  • Western communication services,

  • social networks,

  • messengers,

  • video calling platforms.

FaceTime has become another service that has been banned after a series of blockades by the Kremlin.
