Roskomnadzor blocks FaceTime in Russia, claiming «terrorists use the service»
Roskomnadzor announces blocking of video communication service FaceTime on the territory of Russia.
In a statement, the agency claims that Apple's platform was allegedly used to:
organising and conducting terrorist attacks,
recruitment of performers,
implementation of fraudulent schemes.
As usual, the Russian side did not provide any confirmation or evidence.
Context.
Since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has consistently restricted access to:
Western communication services,
social networks,
messengers,
video calling platforms.
FaceTime has become another service that has been banned after a series of blockades by the Kremlin.
