Rumer Willis tells how her father Bruce Willis really feels
American actress Rumer Willis For the first time in a long time, she spoke frankly about the condition of her father, an iconic Hollywood actor Bruce Willis, who is living with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
In a conversation with her subscribers, Rumer admitted that it was extremely difficult to answer the question «how he feels»:
«People always ask me this, and I don't know how to answer it. Anyone with FTD cannot feel great. But from the point of view of a person living with this condition, it feels pretty good.».
She explained that the usual formulations of «good» or «bad» do not work in the reality of the disease:
«The only way to answer is to say “he's doing great”, but that's not true. That scale just doesn't fit what he's going through.».
«I am grateful for every opportunity to hug him»
Rumer said in a touching way that the most important thing for her now is to be physically present with her father:
«I am very grateful that I can come and hug him. Even if he doesn't always recognise me, I feel love. And I see it from him. This feeling has not disappeared.».
She also emphasised how much she appreciated the fact that her daughter Luetta can spend time with his grandfather:
«I'm grateful that my daughter has the opportunity to be with him. He lights up when he sees her.».

Bruce Willis ended his acting career in 2022 due to poor health, after which the family announced his diagnosis. Rumer and other family members regularly share how they care for and support the actor.
