Russian Federation strikes at railway depot in Odesa: driver wounded

The Russian army launched a massive attack on the Ukrzaliznytsia railway depot in Odesa at night. This was announced by the Vice Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba.

Consequences of the attack

  • The railway infrastructure was damaged.

  • The impact caused damage to the depot where the trains are serviced.

  • As a result of the shelling a driver was injured, who received shrapnel wounds. He is being provided with medical assistance.

Context.

The Russian Federation systematically attacks Ukraine's transport infrastructure in an attempt to paralyse the transport of military and humanitarian supplies. Despite the shelling, the railway continues to play a key role in connecting the regions.
