What we know about Burevestnik«

The Burevestnik missile is one of the six so-called «superweapons» of the Russian Federation, which Putin first announced in 2018.
It has nuclear power plant, which, according to the Russians, allows it to stay in the air for several days, bypass routes through the North Pole and cover intercontinental distances.

However, experts have repeatedly questioned real efficiency and safety of this system, recalling that previous tests of the Burevestnik resulted in radiation incidents in 2019.

Western reaction

The United States and NATO have not yet confirmed the tests, but reminded that Any use of nuclear technology in offensive weapons is a violation of international security standards.
Analysts point out that Putin's statement is more likely to propaganda nature, aimed at demonstrating Russia's «strength» against the backdrop of a protracted war against Ukraine.
