Russians attack Odesa region: there are dead and wounded

Civilian infrastructure and energy facilities damaged in night attack on civilian infrastructure

On the night of 23.09.2025, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the Odesa region. According to preliminary data, the attack resulted in civilian deaths and injuries.

Local authorities report that port areas, residential neighbourhoods and energy infrastructure facilities came under fire. Some of the missiles and kamikaze drones were shot down by the air defence forces, but not all.

«Russia has attacked civilians again. Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded. All necessary assistance is being provided to the victims, and the aftermath of the strike is being eliminated,» said the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

Consequences of the attack

• Several civilians were killed (the exact number is being clarified).

• There are wounded, some people are hospitalised.

• Destroyed and damaged residential buildings.

• There were power outages.

Government response

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the attacks on civilian targets are yet another proof of the terrorist nature of the Russian army. He stressed that not only the Russian military leadership, but also all those who carried out the orders will be held accountable for these crimes.
