What happened
Russia launched a combined attack on a number of Ukrainian cities using attack UAVs and missiles of various types. Some of the air targets were destroyed by air defence forces, but hits were recorded in the residential sector and critical infrastructure.
Consequences of the attack
There are preliminary reports of dead and wounded civilians. Apartment buildings, private homes, transport and utility infrastructure were damaged; fires broke out in some locations. Data on the extent of the destruction and the number of victims are being updated.
On-site services
The SES units are localising the fire, clearing the rubble, evacuating residents and providing first aid. Utilities are promptly cutting off gas and water supplies to the damaged buildings to prevent additional incidents.
Energy and communications
Due to the damage to the infrastructure, there may be emergency power outages and communication disruptions in the most affected areas. Power engineers are reconnecting customers and making local repairs; residents are asked to keep consumption moderate during peak hours.
Actions of the authorities
The local authorities organise temporary accommodation centres, provide water supply and mobile social assistance teams. Law enforcement officials document the consequences of the attack as a war crime.
What citizens should do
Comply with air raid warnings and the «two walls» rule.
Keep your documents, water, flashlight and power bank ready.
Do not publish photos/video of air defence operations and hit sites until official permission is granted.
Follow the updates from OBAs/MBAs and energy companies.
Context.
Combined strikes are designed to overload the air defence system: first, waves of «kamikaze» drones are launched, followed by missiles of different classes and directions. This tactic increases the risk of hits even if the defence is highly effective.
What's next
Officials will inform about the clarified consequences, restoration work and possible restrictions. The material will be updated as soon as new verified information becomes available.
