More than 130,000 people fell ill in Ukraine during the week.

Over the past week, more than 130,000 cases of influenza, ARVI and COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine.
This was reported in the Public Health Centres (PHCs). The epidemic season will continue until 17 May 2026.


The beginning of the epidemic season

The CPC experts have officially announced the beginning of the epidemic season flu, ARVI and COVID-19 in Ukraine.
In most regions, there is already a a gradual increase in the number of visits to doctors due to respiratory infections.

«We see a seasonal increase in the incidence, particularly among school-age children. This is a typical beginning of the epidemic period,» the Public Health Centre said.


Performance over the past week

Over the past seven days, doctors have recorded more than 130 thousand new cases, of them:

  • More than 76 thousand are children (58% from all patients),

  • The rest are adults of working age,

  • The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is also growing.


What do doctors advise

Doctors call on Ukrainians get vaccinated against influenza and follow basic preventive measures:
wear masks in crowded places, ventilate the room, avoid contact with people who are sick and stay at home at the first symptoms.
