Musk reacts sharply to Polish Foreign Minister's statement on Starlink
American billionaire and company owner SpaceX Elon Musk spoke harshly of the Polish foreign minister Radoslav Sikorsky after his public statement on the use of the system Starlink.
Sikorsky appealed to Musk with a call limit the use of Starlink by the Russian military, which, he said, uses satellite communications to attacks on Ukrainian cities. The Polish minister also noted that Profiting from crime can damage a brand's reputation.
Musk's reaction
In response, Musk used offensive language, saying that Sikorsky «does not realise» that Starlink is the backbone of Ukraine's military communications.
His statement caused wide resonance in social media and a new wave of discussions about the role of private tech companies in Russia's war against Ukraine.
Context.
Starlink plays a key role in providing communications for the Ukrainian military, public services and civilian infrastructure. At the same time, the issue of possible use of this system by the Russian side has been repeatedly raised by both Ukraine and its partners.
The Starlink debate highlights the difficulty of balancing business interests, ethics and security challenges in a full-scale war.
