Heavy snowfall paralyses Japan: one dead and dozens injured

Japan is covered heavy snowfall, that have already led to deaths and numerous injuries. The bad weather came after similar weather disasters in Kamchatka and the United States.

Where the most affected are

The situation is most difficult:

  • in the city Sapporo on the island Hokkaido;

  • in prefectures Ishikawa and Niigata on the west coast of Japan.

In many areas, snow drifts exceeded one metre, and municipal vehicles are unable to clear the roads.

According to local authorities:
