According to Politico, the following persons arrived in Kyiv for an unannounced visit US Secretary of the Army and Chief of Staff of the US Army. Their arrival was kept secret for security reasons.

The US delegation is to hold a number of key meetings:

• with Ukraine's military leadership,

• with representatives of the Verkhovna Rada,

• with the president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The main topic of the talks will be the state of the peace process with russia, which, according to the publication, is in a «stalled state».

Meeting with Zelensky

According to sources, the meeting between US officials and Zelenskyy is likely to take place after his return from Turkey, where the president holds a series of bilateral talks, including with Recep Tayyip Erdogan and representatives of the United States.

The visit takes place against the backdrop of intensified international efforts to develop a new format for security arrangements and discuss the terms of a potential settlement. At the same time, the United States continues to assess Ukraine's needs for military technology, including anti-missile and air defence systems.
