Ukraine will start automatically fining drivers without an e-collision insurance policy
Ukraine is preparing to introduce automatic fines for drivers who do not have an electronic policy of compulsory civil liability insurance (MOTOR THIRD PARTY LIABILITY INSURANCE).
According to the information UkrAvtoprom, As early as March, car registration cameras will start checking the state number plates of cars in the insurance database in a test mode.
How the check will work
The system will automatically check the car number against the data in the insurance policy register. If the database does not contain information about a valid policy, the system will assume that there is no insurance.
In this case, the driver may receive a fine even if he or she has a paper document, but it is not entered into the electronic register.
What it means for drivers
In fact, the new system does electronic policy as the main proof of insurance.
Drivers are advised to check whether their policy has been entered into the central database to avoid erroneous fines after the automatic check is launched.
