Mass registration of women for military service in the MCCs is being recorded in Ukraine. Some of them are declared wanted, and fines for failure to appear are often cancelled by the courts. Problems arise with the deregistration procedure due to imperfect legislation.
Mass mobilisation of women
Women of different professions are entering the military accounting in the CCP. According to the order of the Ministry of Defence of 2021, the specialities to be registered include cooks, managers, translators, psychologists, and accountants.
After being registered, some women are put on the wanted list because they fail to appear at the TCC. Lawyers report that such cases are becoming more frequent.
Fines and court practice
Women are fined for failing to appear at the TCC. However, according to lawyers, courts often overturn these fines.
Despite the abolition of fines, it is almost impossible to deregister from the military register. The reason is gaps in the legislation that do not regulate this procedure for women.
Context.
The registration of women for military service began after the order of the Ministry of Defence came into force in 2021. The list of specialties subject to registration includes dozens of civilian professions.
Experts stress that the legislation needs to be amended to regulate the procedure for deregistration and avoid legal conflicts.
