Gassed and camera taken away: journalists attacked in Kyiv
On 14 January, in the capital, at 1 Hnizdivskoho St., journalists were attacked after exposing one of the largest fraudulent call centres, which, according to preliminary data, employed more than 300 people, most of which are Turkish citizens.
What preceded the attack
According to the journalists of «Stop Cor», a large-scale fraudulent call centre was exposed in the building. After the film crew arrived, the call centre employees began to leave the premises en masse and avoid talking to journalists.
Attack on journalists
Later, the following arrived at the scene 25-30 people in black clothes with yellow armbands, The journalists said, attacked the film crew. The attackers:
applied tear gas;
took away the camera and other equipment;
interfered with the professional activities of journalists.
According to the preliminary qualification, the actions of the attackers have signs of robbery.
Law enforcement response
The journalists called the police. Law enforcement officers:
accepted official statements;
announced an interception plan;
Identify the persons involved in the attack.

The circumstances of the incident caused a wide response. According to journalists, the situation looks like a fraudulent business with hundreds of employees was guarded more seriously than some strategic facilities, raising issues of security, legality and protection of freedom of speech in Ukraine.
