After the Russian attack on Lviv Andriy Sadovyi said he had a lot of questions for everyone about defending the city. The commander of the Unmanned Systems Force Robert Brovdi with call sign “Magyar” replied that the military shoots down 95-97% drones every day and urged not to blame the defenders of the sky. Sadovyi apologised for his emotional words.

Sadovyi's statements after the attack

After the attack on Lviv by Russian drones, Andriy Sadovyi told journalists that he had “a lot of questions for everyone” about the city's defence. According to him, Lviv is constantly buying drones, anti-drone systems and donating everything the military asks for.

Sadovyi stressed that the lion's share of the city budget is spent on supporting the military. He noted that the main thing now is to save people and provide them with assistance.

Response from the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces

Unmanned Systems Commander Robert Brovdi responded to Sadovyi's statements. He said that during the attack on 24 March, only 15 of the 556 Russian drones reached their targets, or about 3%s.

Brovdi stressed that the Ukrainian military shoots down 95-97% drones every day, even during massive attacks. He urged not to blame those who defend the sky and advised to take care of people and make fewer public comments.

Sadovyi's apology

Following Brovdi's response, Andriy Sadovyi issued a separate statement. He acknowledged that his words were emotional and incorrect, explaining that they were a reaction to the consequences of the attack, which he personally saw near a burning building in the centre of Lviv.

Sadovyi emphasised his respect for the air defence forces and all those who defend the sky and the earth. He added that the community of Lviv responds to the requests of the military as much as possible, and decisions on equipment are made by responsible specialists.
