What will change for kindergartens
У Ukraine plan to systematically integrate English into the educational process for older groups of kindergartens.
We are talking about children aged 5-6 years, children who are preparing to enter school. It is expected that the classes will be held in the form of games, songs and interactive exercises.
The Ministry of Education notes that this practice is in line with modern European approaches to early foreign language learning.
Why early English learning is being introduced
According to representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, the introduction of English in kindergartens has several goals:
Prepare children for school
improve language skills from an early age
Adapt the Ukrainian education system to European standards
Experts emphasise that early exposure to the language helps children to perceive foreign vocabulary more easily and develop communication skills.
Part of the educational reform
The introduction of English in kindergartens is part of wider changes to the education system. The Ministry of Education and Science expects that the new programme will help to increase the level of foreign language proficiency among future schoolchildren.
