«Ukrainian Venice» without men: almost all men have disappeared in Vilkovo
In a city called «Ukrainian Venice» Through its many canals instead of streets, silence now reigns as almost all men of military age have disappeared.

Vilkovo, located in the Danube Delta, is known as a tourist centre and a place of unique blending of Ukrainian, Moldovan and Old Believer cultures. But now the town has lost its former liveliness, with boats moored near the shore and streets half empty.
Women have taken on not only household chores and raising children, but also administrative work, community initiatives and even volunteering to support the frontline.
