Syrsky: For Ukraine, the life of every soldier is the highest value, we are not fighting for ruins
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky said that the life of every Ukrainian serviceman is the highest value, and that is why the defence of certain sections of the frontline is not being carried out «at any cost».
«When the defence loses all meaning, I give the command to pull back the units to save our military,» he stressed.
Why Russia is making slow progress
According to Syrsky, the slow advance of Russian troops is due to the fact that the Ukrainian army is avoiding unjustified losses.
«For us, it is better to lose 200-300 metres than the life of one of our servicemen,» the Commander-in-Chief noted.
He acknowledged that Ukraine is losing many defenders, which is a «huge pain», but Russia is suffering many times more losses.
