Russia has deployed about 710,000 troops for strategic offensive - Syrsky
The Russian Federation has concentrated about 710 thousand military personnel for a possible strategic offensive. This was reported by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Situation in key areas
According to Syrsky, as a result of active search and strike operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the enemy was pushed back from Kupyansk, and Ukrainian forces have established control over over 90% of the city's territory.
He also noted that the enemy has been trying to seize Pokrovsk for more than 17 months without success. During the counter-offensive actions of the Defence Forces:
▪️ is back under control 16 sq. km in the northern part of Pokrovsk;
▪️ fired 56 sq. km in the areas of Grishino, Kotlyne and Udachne to the west of the city.
Strikes in the depths of Russian territory
Separately, the Commander-in-Chief stressed that Ukraine consistently increasing pressure on the enemy in the depths of its territory, striking at targets critical infrastructure of the russian federation by means of Deep Strike.
According to the Ukrainian side, total direct and indirect losses of russia since the beginning of the year as a result of these strikes are about $21.5bn.
Context.
The statement was made against the backdrop of active hostilities on several fronts at once and indicates Russia's simultaneous preparation for large-scale offensive actions and the growth of the Armed Forces' capabilities in conducting deep strikes against enemy rear targets.
