New rules may slow down traffic at checkpoints

From today on Ukrainian-Polish border start without fail scan, photograph and take fingerprints for all those entering the EU," says State Customs Service.

Under the new rules, biometric data is not collected only from children under 12 years of age. During subsequent trips, the system will check the information from a single Schengen digital database.

Delays at checkpoints are possible

Customs officers warn about temporary slowdown of traffic due to additional control procedures. Drivers are urged to take into account possible queues and plan their travel time in advance.
