Cabinet of Ministers plans new payments for military personnel

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is considering changing the system of monetary incentives for military personnel who sign a contract to serve in the Armed Forces.

According to a soldier with the call sign «Osman» у Telegram, The project envisages Increase in one-off and periodic payments depending on the duration of the contract.

Payments under the new terms and conditions

  • The contract is for 1 year:
    UAH 50,000 immediately after signing and UAH 480,000 during the year.

  • The contract is for 2 years:
    UAH 100,000 upon signing and UAH 1,060,000 within 2 years.

  • The contract is for 3 years:
    UAH 150,000 upon signing and UAH 1,750,000 within 3 years.

  • The contract is for 4 years:
    UAH 200,000 upon signing and UAH 2,520,000 within 4 years.

  • The contract is for 5 years:
    UAH 250,000 upon signing and UAH 3,400,000 within 5 years.

  • The contract is for 10 years:
    UAH 250,000 upon signing and UAH 7,050,000 over 10 years.

The aim of the initiative

According to the military, this system of payments is intended to increase motivation to serve under contract, stabilise the army's personnel and increase the prestige of professional military service.

The amendments are to be agreed with the Ministry of Defence and the government's financial unit. The final decision is expected to be made after a discussion at a Cabinet meeting.
