Extension of the «transport visa-free regime» with the EU: benefits for Ukraine
Ukraine and the European Union have agreed to extend the so-called «transport visa-free regime». The document stipulates that Ukrainian carriers will continue to be able to carry out freight transport to the EU without the need to obtain separate permits.
What does «transport visa-free regime» mean?»
This agreement was signed in 2022 after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion. It significantly simplified logistics and reduced costs for Ukrainian companies. Now it has been officially extended for another year.
This allows Ukrainian drivers to transport goods to EU countries without hindrance, which is especially important given the blocked sea routes.
Economic effect
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the extension of the «transport visa-free regime» will bring billions in revenues to the state budget and will support the work of thousands of Ukrainian logistics companies.
«This is a critical decision to support the economy and exports. Ukrainian carriers remain integrated into the European transport space,» the agency said.
Business benefits
Reduced time and costs for obtaining permits;
stable access of Ukrainian goods to the EU market;
support for small and medium-sized businesses in the logistics sector.
The EU stressed that the extension of the agreement is part of a broader policy of supporting Ukraine during the war.
