The GRU was preparing mass terrorist attacks in Poland, Lithuania and Germany - explosives were hidden in cans of corn
Polish special services detain Russian GRU agent Vladislava G. who was involved in the preparation of terrorist attacks on the territory of the European Union. As reported by Gazeta Wyborcza, The Russians hid the explosives in ordinary corn tins.
Caches in cemeteries and smuggling between countries
According to the investigation, the agent buried «corn cans» with explosives in cemeteries in Poland, from where he was to retrieve them and use them for attacks in designated locations. Law enforcement officers found similar caches in Lithuania.
In addition to explosives, Vladislav G. was involved in the transportation of components for drones and SIM cards used for covert communication.
A threat to the whole of Europe
Investigators emphasise that the agent's activities were part of a wider operation by Russian special services aimed at destabilising the situation in NATO countries. The alleged terrorist attacks were planned not only in Poland and Lithuania, but also in Germany.
Agent faces life imprisonment
Vladislav G. is currently in custody. If his guilt is proven, he faces life imprisonment.
