Trump grants full pardon to Binance founder
President of the United States Donald Trump announced the full and unconditional pardon founder of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance - Changpeng Zhao (CZ), convicted of violating anti-money laundering laws.

Billionaire of Chinese origin, Canadian citizen Changpeng Zhao in 2023, he resigned from his position as CEO of Binance after the company admitted to financial control violations.
Binance paid a fine of $4.3 billion, and Zhao himself $50 million and took about four months in prison.
After being pardoned, he will be able to return to managing the company he founded in 2017.

A political signal
Trump's decision was part of his administration's policy of support for the crypto industry and «cleansing» it from previous scandals related to regulation and prosecution.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said that the prosecution of Zhao during the Biden administration was «part of the war on cryptocurrency».
«The President's team carefully reviewed all pardons before making the decision. We support those who promote innovation and transparency,» Levitt said.
