Trump: «It's time to hold presidential elections in Ukraine»
During his next speech US President Donald Trump said that in his opinion, it was time to hold presidential elections in Ukraine, despite Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
Trump added that Volodymyr Zelenskyy could have won, but «must pull itself together and start agreeing to the proposals, because it is losing on the battlefield».
According to Trump, the recent American proposal to resolve the war «was liked by senior Ukrainian officials», although Kyiv has publicly confirmed that it does not agree to territorial concessions to Russia.
Trump also said that, in his opinion, Russia is in a better position to negotiate, because it is «a much bigger country».
He also claimed that the Ukrainian authorities «uses the war to avoid holding elections», and that, in his words, «the Ukrainian people should have had this choice».
