Russian reconnaissance UAV crashes in Turkey for the second time in a few days
In the western part Turkey recorded the second downing of a Russian reconnaissance drone in recent days.
Details of the incident
According to local media, a Russian UAV was spotted near the town of Manyas Merlin-BP. The aircraft was lying in a field, and a parachute was found nearby, which could indicate an emergency descent or loss of control.
Turkish security services arrived at the scene and the area was cordoned off. The technical characteristics of the drone and the circumstances of its crash are currently being investigated.
Context.
A day earlier, a Russian reconnaissance drone was also found near Istanbul Eagle. Turkish authorities have not yet provided public explanations as to why Russian UAVs appeared on the territory of the country.
Experts do not rule out a technical malfunction or loss of control over the devices.
