Tusk reminds allies of NATO's mission: «The Alliance was created to protect the West from Russia»
Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk addressed NATO allies with a warning about losing the Alliance's primary values. In a post on social media X He stressed that NATO, from its inception, existed as a response to Soviet (i.e. Russian) aggression.
«I would like to remind our allies that NATO was created to protect the West from Soviet aggression, that is, from Russia. And it was based on solidarity, not selfish interests. I hope that nothing has changed.», - Tusk wrote.
His statement came amid discussions about the political crisis in Kyiv and diplomatic efforts related to the US «peace plan».
