Tusk names the cost of the Eastern Shield project for Poland
Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk said that the implementation of the defence programme «Eastern Shield» will cost the country about 10 billion euros.
What the funds will be used for
According to Tusk, the funding will be used to:
Strengthening Poland's eastern border;
countering drones;
implementation modern surveillance systems using elements of artificial intelligence.
The role of the EU and the Northern Bloc«
The Prime Minister also said that Poland together with Finland will coordinate the work of the so-called «Northern Bloc» in the security sector. At the same time, according to him, The European Union as a whole will be actively involved in strengthening border security on the eastern flank.

The Eastern Shield project is seen by Warsaw as a key element in the defence of the EU and NATO's eastern border against the backdrop of Russia's war against Ukraine and growing security threats in the region.
