Zelensky: Russian attack on Odesa region had no military sense
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia launched a missile attack on Odesa region today. According to him, the target was again a civilian infrastructure association - a civilian vessel was damaged in the port of Chornomorsk.
The Head of State emphasised that the attack had no military logic and could not have had any, only terror against the Ukrainian economy and civilian sector.
A blow to the energy sector in Odesa
Zelensky reminded that last night the enemy also attacked energy facilities in Odesa. Such attacks are aimed at undermining the city's ability to function and maintain a normal standard of living.
Assessment of Russia's actions: diplomacy or terror
The President said that such strikes demonstrate that Russia does not take seriously the chance for diplomacy that exists today and instead continues the war against the civilian population.
«It is important for the world to see who is trying to end the war in peace and who is prolonging it with strikes on civilian targets,» Zelenskyy said.
International response and the role of information
The President thanked all the partners who spread the truth about the attack and prevent Russian propaganda from influencing political processes in the world.
Protecting Ukrainian cities
Ukraine is now mobilising all its forces to protect civilians in Odesa and Chornomorsk, as well as in Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk region.
Zelenskyy stressed that the change in the situation depends on how decisive the international community's response to Russian aggression will be.
