
The potential of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex is millions of drones
Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said that Ukraine has the potential to produce up to 20 million drones per year, The country's international partners will provide adequate funding for the relevant programmes.
«Our defence industry is already showing record growth rates. If our partners help us with resources, we will be able to start producing up to 20 million drones annually in 2026,» the Prime Minister stressed.
Partner support and development priorities
According to Shmyhal, in 2025-2026 Ukraine will focus on three key areas of defence development:
Long-range and accurate strikes - development of own missiles and long-range unmanned systems;
Mass production of drones For the front, the expansion of domestic plants and joint lines with the allies;
Technological cooperation with NATO countries - joint production of electronics, optics, engines and components.
«We have already set up dozens of production sites, and hundreds of companies are working on various models, from FPV to strategic drones,» the Prime Minister added.
Ukraine is among the leaders in the field of unmanned technologies
According to the Ministry of Strategy and Industry, Ukraine may exceed the mark of 10 million drones in 2025 of various types. In particular, FPV drones, reconnaissance systems and maritime drones have already become a key element of Ukrainian defence.
International experts believe that the implementation of the announced programme will allow Ukraine to to become one of the largest drone manufacturers in the world.
