Ukraine is preparing a tax mega-draft law for cooperation with the IMF
The Verkhovna Rada is preparing a large-scale draft law that should combine the tax changes necessary for Ukraine's further cooperation with IMF. This is reported by the publication RBC-Ukraine.
Unofficially, the initiative is called Beautiful Tax Bill, and its author is considered to be the head of the faction «Servant of the People» by David Arahamia.
What can be included in the document
According to media reports, the draft law provides for a number of innovations:
introduction of the so-called «OLX tax»;
taxation international postal items;
indefinite military service with a fixed rate 5% on an ongoing basis.
At the same time, it is reported that Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko opposes the submission to the parliament of a draft law on VAT for individual entrepreneurs.
Context.
Tax changes are one of the key conditions for financial support programmes for Ukraine from International Monetary Fund.
Combining the reforms into a single bill may speed up their adoption, but it also raises public debate due to a possible increase in the tax burden.
