Ukrainian air defence forces shoot down a Russian aircraft that was bombing Zaporizhzhia and surrounding areas. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary information, the aircraft was conducting another raid on the civilian infrastructure of the region. After coordinated work by air defence units, the target was detected and destroyed.
«The occupiers continue terrorist attacks against civilians, but our air defence system proves its effectiveness every time,» the military said in an official statement.
The location of the crash is under investigation. There are currently no reports of civilian casualties or injuries.
Experts note that the destruction of enemy aircraft is essential to reduce the intensity of Russian air strikes on Ukrainian cities.
