The Cabinet of Ministers launches a mechanism to compensate for war risks for business

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the mechanism of compensation for losses for enterprises, The project is aimed at helping people who have suffered from the consequences of hostilities.
The programme will cover Losses from missile and drone attacks, explosions, air defence debris and other combat factors that led to damage to business property.


Amount of compensation

Under the new rules, enterprises from the frontline areas will be able to get up to UAH 10 million in compensation for damaged or destroyed property.
Compensation will be provided to after assessing the damage and confirming the fact of destruction by the relevant acts.

«This is the first systemic mechanism to support businesses operating in the risk zone. We have to ensure the continuity of production even in the most difficult regions,» the government stressed.


How the mechanism will work

  • Compensation will be available to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, registered in Ukraine.

  • You can apply by through the Diia portal« or the relevant regional economic development authorities.

  • The application must be accompanied by photo and video evidence, property documents and damage assessment.

  • Payments will be made through state recovery fund after the application is verified by the commission.


Context.

Earlier, the government introduced a separate programme war risk insurance for investors, and the new mechanism extends support to existing businesses.
The main goal is to Save jobs, stimulate production and prevent the outflow of business from regions close to the frontline.
