Volunteering, mutual assistance and trust have become the main features of Ukrainian society after three years of war.

Social mobilisation: a country of volunteers

Ukrainians have become a unique example of self-organisation.
After 2022, volunteering has gone beyond humanitarian aid - it is now a parallel system of state support, covering everything from frontline drones to psychological support for the military.

According to the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), 67 % citizens have participated in volunteer or charitable initiatives at least once, and 41 %s support the army on a regular basis.
This created a new social elite - the “volunteer generation”, The company's values are shaped not by slogans, but by concrete actions.

The psychological front: resilience and fatigue

The war has made emotional endurance a key feature of the nation.
Despite the losses, Ukrainian society demonstrates a phenomenal ability to remain motivated.

However, at the same time, the anxiety level - More than 60 % Ukrainians admit to feeling psychologically exhausted.
A new culture of mental health is emerging in large cities - a demand for psychotherapy, relocation and inner peace is no longer stigmatised.

Psychologists note: «After the war, the reconstruction of Ukraine will begin not with concrete, but with the restoration of a person.».

Faith in institutions: growing trust and new expectations

Confidence in the Armed Forces remains at a record high 93 %.
At the same time, citizens are demanding more transparency of the authorities, The government has to be able to control the funds and implement real reforms in the justice system.

Experts of the Institute for the Future note that society is moving from the stage of «emotional unity» to “rational demandingness”:

“Ukrainians no longer just support the state - they want an effective, honest and accountable government.”.

New social values

During the war, a unique set of national principles was formed
dignity, mutual support, critical thinking and horizontal trust.
They are the basis of Ukraine's modernisation after the victory.

In sociology, this process is called «cultural renewal» - when the community, having passed the crisis, creates a new coordinate system.

Conclusion.

Ukrainian society has already changed - it has become more mature, demanding and solidarity.
The war destroyed the old model of passivity and indifference.
In its place comes civil liability, This makes Ukrainians not just victims of circumstances, but creators of a new social contract.
