
More and more young Ukrainians arrive in Germany after easing travel rules
Following the change and easing of the rules for Ukrainian citizens to leave the country, a much larger number of young people aged 18 to 22 began arriving in Germany.
This was reported by the German media with reference to the data Ministry of the Interior of Germany.
Growth statistics
According to the German Ministry of Internal Affairs, the number of Ukrainian citizens aged 18-22 who enter the country every week is estimated at 1,000, increased from 19 people in mid-August to over a thousand by mid-September.
In October, the flow increased further to 1400-1800 people per week.

What has changed in the rules
In August, Germany amended its immigration requirements for Ukrainians:
young people under the age of 23 were able to enter for education and training without additional visa requirements;
quotas for admission to courses and internships were increased;
the procedure for obtaining temporary residence permits has been simplified.
The German Ministry of the Interior emphasises that All Ukrainians entering the country are subject to registration and document verification, and their stay is controlled on a general basis under EU temporary protection.
Educational and social aspect
Experts note that the vast majority of newcomers are students and applicants, who are looking for further education or employment in Germany.
In a number of states, there are additional language and educational programmes for Ukrainian youth.
