Ukraine develops weapons against KABs: up to 100 Russian bombs destroyed
The General Staff of Ukraine reported that the Armed Forces are working on a special weapon to intercept Russian guided aerial bombs, which have become the main tool of Russian attacks on Ukrainian positions and civilian objects in recent months.
According to the military, in autumn, Ukrainian units have already destroyed up to 100 enemy subversive cells, Despite the high complexity of their damage.
Why it matters
KABs are one of the most dangerous Russian air threats. They can be dropped from a long distance, have a powerful warhead and are capable of destroying fortifications and residential infrastructure.
The development of a new countermeasure will allow Ukraine to reduce the scale of destruction and losses, and will make it more difficult for Russians to use aviation along the front line with impunity.
Context.
The Russian Federation is actively using anti-aircraft guns in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions in an attempt to break through the defences and strike at critical infrastructure.
The new interception system being developed by Ukrainian developers will become one of the key elements of a multi-level defence system.
