Ukrzaliznytsia suspends trains to Sloviansk and Kramatorsk - restrictions to Kharkiv region
Ukrzaliznytsia has announced the suspension of passenger trains to Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
This is reported by the Donetsk regional military administration.
According to the new timetable, trains will now run only to the following stations Gusarivka or Barvenkovo in the Kharkiv region.
The decision was made through increased level of danger and frequent shelling of railway infrastructure in Donetsk region.
Security reasons for the decision
Ukrzaliznytsia emphasises that the safety of passengers and staff remains a priority.
Traffic to frontline settlements will resume only after the situation stabilises.
Earlier, the company had already reduced routes to Donbas - trains ran to Pokrovska, But the situation has deteriorated significantly since the latest attacks.
Context.
Train traffic to the Donetsk region has been restricted since 2022, when the region was regularly subjected to rocket and artillery attacks.
Recently, Russian troops have intensified attacks on transport infrastructure, making further passenger traffic impossible.
