Umerov and Vitkoff reported on the progress of negotiations on the «peace plan» and agreed to continue meetings on Saturday

Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Rustem Umerov and the US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff announced the results of the next round of Ukrainian-American talks on the so-called «peace plan». The meetings will continue on Saturday," the joint statement said. 

Discussion of the Future Development Programme«

According to Umerov, a separate block of talks was dedicated to «Ukraine's Future Development Programme - a large-scale concept of post-war reconstruction, which includes:

• rebuilding critical infrastructure;

• long-term economic initiatives of Ukraine and the United States;

• joint investment projects;

• creating a strategic framework for sustainable development after the war.

Umerov stressed that it is not just about rebuilding, but about Creation of a new economic security architecture.

Results of the US-Russian meeting and possible ways to end the war

Steve Witkoff noted that during the negotiations the parties discussed results of the recent meeting of the american delegation with representatives of russia. According to him, the steps that could potentially lead to the end of the war were analysed, as well as the risks associated with their implementation.

The American side provided Ukraine with details of contacts with the Russians and a vision of the next stages of negotiations.

Security arrangements and deterring aggression

Ukrainian and American representatives also agreed on a framework for future security guarantees, The company has to ensure that they do:

• a lasting peace;

• Deterring Russia's aggression;

• strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities for years to come.

It is a set of military, technological and political mechanisms that should make it impossible to repeat a large-scale invasion.

Negotiations will continue on Saturday

The parties confirmed that the next round of meetings will take place on Saturday. They are expected to continue discussing the «peace plan», security guarantees and post-war reconstruction.
