The US and Japan sign a new trade agreement: “A ”golden age' of cooperation

The United States and Japan have signed a new bilateral trade and economic agreement, which both sides called the beginning of the “a ”new golden age" in relations between countries.

According to the document, the United States impose 15% duties on a number of Japanese goods, while Japan is taking on commitment to invest USD $550 billion in the US economy and increase purchases of American products.


Key areas of cooperation

During the signing ceremony in Washington US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi also concluded Memorandum of cooperation in the field of critical minerals.
The document aims to strengthen the partnership between the industrial giants of both countries, The company has a strong presence in the energy, electronics and defence sectors.

“This is a historic moment. Together, we are creating a new economic architecture for the Pacific region,” said Donald Trump.


Japan strengthens economic ties with the US

Sanae Takaichi emphasised that the new agreement will help Japanese companies expand its presence in the US market, and will also contribute to “the economic security of both countries for decades to come”.
