US Marine General urges military to be ready for future challenges

Commander of the US Marine Corps General Eric Smith addressed the US military with a speech in which he stressed the need to be prepared for new hostilities.

«The next battle is coming. Believe me, it's coming. And when it does, the Marines will be ready,» Smith said.

Strengthening combat readiness

In his address, the General emphasised that the US Marine Corps must remain mobile, flexible and able to respond to any threat in the world. He noted that maintaining discipline, morale and cohesion are key to future success.

«We have to be the first to arrive and the last to leave. That is our mission and our responsibility,» Smith added.

Context of the statement

The General's statement came against the backdrop of an aggravated international situation, in particular Rising tensions in the Pacific region and strengthening US cooperation with NATO allies.

American analysts point out that such appeals reflect the Pentagon's readiness to possible global challenges, The main reasons for this are hybrid threats, actions of authoritarian regimes and the growing risk of military conflicts.
