Closed meeting with the military
Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov held a closed meeting with assault and infantry soldiers from 13 units. The participants were sergeants and soldiers serving in the Donetsk, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Kherson sectors.
The discussion highlighted the problems faced by the military at the front. These include: the length of time spent in positions, the complexity of rotations, complicated logistics under drone attacks, shortage of personnel, quality of training, provision of drones and equipment, morale and communication on the front line.
Package of changes for the army
The meeting included a crash test of the solutions being prepared by the Ministry of Defence team. These include key changes to the mobilisation and contract service process, as well as separate approaches for assault and infantry soldiers regarding service periods and financial support.
A package of specific projects is planned to be implemented to systematically change the situation at the front. The solutions are aimed at improving service conditions and increasing the combat capability of units.
Context.
On the instructions of the President, the Ministry of Defence is working with the military to scale down enemy losses and strengthen the positions of the Armed Forces. The goal is to increase the effectiveness of defence and support the military on the front line.
