The Verkhovna Rada has passed a bill that guarantees monthly payments of UAH 50,000 to military personnel released from captivity if they need long-term treatment.
What the document provides for
The law establishes a clear procedure for assistance to those released from captivity:
If the serviceman is treated for more than 30 days, he will receive UAH 50,000 per month;
payments will be made within three months after being released;
the procedure for processing documents on injuries and illnesses sustained during captivity will be simplified.
The purpose of the law is to remove bureaucratic obstacles and ensure a single standard of assistance for those who have returned from captivity.
«This is an important step to support our military who have been captured and need time to recover,» the authors of the bill said.
